The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court today affirmed a defendant's conviction for murdering a Plymouth man in his home 13 years ago, but ordered a superior court judge to hold a hearing to determine if the defendant is entitled to a new trial. A Lowell District Court judge today ruled a Billerica police officer violated Attorney Chris Spring's client's constitutional rights when he searched the defendant's car without his consent. As a result, the case against the defendant has been dismissed. (more…)
